GKTECH = SR/KA/RB/VG HIGH PERFORMANCE ENGINE FAN - 60% MORE AIR FLOW

  • Sale
  • Regular price $170.00

DESCRIPTION

The GKTECH high-performance engine fan has been designed and engineered in Australia with the intention of pulling more air than the factory item.

When tested on a dyno the GKTECH high-performance fan took less than half the time to cool down from 90 degrees to operating temperature (good for next time you're on the start line at the track).

Super easy to install, simply remove your factory fan (4 bolts) and install the new fan, it is a direct replacement clutch fan to suit SR, KA, RB, VG engines

An adapter is needed to fit RB/VG engines, as seen here: https://au.gktech.com/rb-vg-clutch-fan-adapter

- Direct replacement of the standard fan
- Pulls 60% more air than the factory SR fan
- Pulls 40% more air than the factory RB fan
- V2 features an all new mould to ensure superior strength over OEM and a long-lasting fan

Vehicle Compatibility:
- Nissan 180sx

NOTE: Can NOT be used in conjunction with Nismo engine mounts on an S13/180sx as the mounts raise your motor approximately 20mm's which will make our fan hit your radiator shroud (our fan is 15mm larger in diameter than the OEM SR20 fan) however S14/S15’s with Nismo engine mounts are fine and our fan will fit.

FAQ'S

Will this fit my car?We can only confirm fitment for the vehicles listed above under "vehicle compatibility". If your car is not listed there, then we don't know if it will fit.Do you make these to suit other cars?We only sell the parts listed on our website. If it's not listed on our website, then we don't sell it. Sorry. However, we do sell an adapter to suit RB/VG engines which can be seen here: https://au.gktech.com/rb-vg-clutch-fan-adapter

What's the advantage of using the GKTech engine fan?We tested the clutch fan on a test vehicle in a controlled environment (on a dyno) with back to back tests and from 90 degrees celsius, it took less than half the time to go from 90 degrees to idle operating temperature. We found the fan pulls 60% more air than the factory SR fan and 40% more air than the factory RB fan. What modifications are required, is this hard to fit?No modifications are required, simply just remove and refit.

Is there anything else needed for installation? You will need to supply your own clutch pack. If you are running an RB/VG motor you will need the adapter listed above, if you are not then you do not need anything else. In terms of the fan, it will arrive as shown in the product photo. Can I install this myself? If so how long will installation take?Yes, provided you have general mechanical knowledge it is straightforward. Installation should take around 45 minutes. However, being a vital engine component we recommend only a trained professional to install this product.

How do clutch fans compare to thermo fans?If you've ever been to the track with thermo fans you know that unless setup with a shroud and correctly, they're useless. Clutch fans with the standard shroud are the way to go.

What's the weight on the clutch compared to the standard item? The standard clutch fan is 415mm's in diameter and weighs in at 640grams. Our new design is 430mm's in diameter and coincidentally also weighs 640grams.

What is the clutch fan made of?The clutch fan has a metal center (like the factory unit) and is made of ABS plastic (like the factory unit).

Will I lose any engine power with the fan pulling more air?No, with our dyno tests on the same car within 30 minutes of each test with multiple runs made we actually GAINED around 1% in power with the new clutch fan installed. The cause of this? There was less heat soak and everything was running cooler.

Which way do I install it?The fins on the fan are to taper back towards the engine.
