During installation of clutch kits, it is critical that a metal input shaft or alignment tool is used during the clutch alignment process. This process ensures that the clutch discs are aligned straight and true to the pilot bushing/bearing of the flywheel or crankshaft.
We do not suggest plastic alignment tools when working on performance vehicles. You will warp the clutch discs upon install if the clutch & gearbox is not perfectly centered.
These input shafts are made with the same materials that our transmission components are made out of, heat treated then machined to very tight tolerances to ensure fitment is perfect.
